Popular travel magazine Conde Nast has recently released a series of iPhone travel guides, designed to cover multiple aspects of 4 selected cities. While iPhone apps like this (for example mTrip) are plentiful, one interesting feature of the Conde Nast variety is the ‘Word Of Mouth’ feature. This addition to the app lets you look up what notable and famous locals recommend you see and do while on a trip to one of the four cities (Paris, Rome, Barcelona, New York) the app is available for.
That’s generally not a make-or-break feature for a travel app, especially one selling for $6 on iTunes, but does add a dimension most don’t. If you’re the type of person that’s especially persuaded by the most popular members of a community you might find just the information you’re looking for. Much like the plentiful word of mouth advice, Conde Nast’s travel guides are also loaded with detailed suggestions on where to eat, shop, visit, and party; although I’d prefer a lower price with more cities to choose from. Conde Nast’s iPhone travel guide are available for download from iTunes.
